Position Description & Qualifications If you love high profile and challenging projects supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), then Serco has a great opportunity for you! As the Experienced Electrical Engineer working onsite NSWC PCD located in Panama City, Florida, you will be integrated within a diverse team of multi-disciplined engineers, and technicians supporting unmanned systems. This position is contingent upon the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance In this role, you will support: * Lead the design of mixed-signal hardware systems including microcontrollers (Arduino, ATmega, PIC, ESP32, etc.), power management systems (AC - DC converters, Transformers, LDOs), and sensor interfaces. * Create detailed schematics and perform complex, multi-layer PCB layouts using industry-standard EDA tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD/Allegro, KiCad, Siemens Xpedition). * Ensure strict adherence to best practices for signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC compliance. * Implement microprocessors into designs using C/C++. * Run test simulations using Spice software (LTspice, Pspice, or equivalent). * Assemble, test, and perform initial bring-up of hardware prototypes. * Utilize lab equipment such as mixed-signal oscilloscopes, electronic loads, and multimeters to verify system performance against specifications. * Develop and execute comprehensive hardware test plans, thermal testing, and reliability testing. * Troubleshoot hardware issues down to the component level. * Create and maintain engineering documentation, including hardware design specifications, BOMs (Bill of Materials), schematics, and detailed instruction documentation for end users. To be successful in this role, you will have: * An Active or Current Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI Clearance. * US Citizenship. * Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a strictly related discipline. * 5 years of similar/related experience. * High level education such as a Masters Degree will be considered in lieu of experience. * 3 years of professional experience in embedded hardware design and full product lifecycle development. * Extensive proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium Designer, Siemens Xpedition, or equivalent). * Strong fundamental knowledge of both digital and analog circuit design. * Experience with common embedded communication protocols, including I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232/485, CAN, Ethernet, and USB. * Hands-on experience with standard electronics laboratory equipment for debugging and characterization (power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters, and oscilloscopes). * Moderate proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems microcontroller programming. * Fundamental understanding of EMI/EMC mitigation techniques and the ability to incorporate that into designs. * Comprehensive understanding of fiber optic system components and how to integrate them into designs. * Ability to troubleshoot and repair fiberoptic systems (multi-mode and single-mode circular mil and SC). * Ability to travel up to 10%.
