Job description

Franjo Construction ( ) - Voted 5x Top Workplace) is looking for a Siding Foreman is responsible for leading and directing field crews in the installation of exterior siding systems on commercial building projects. This role ensures that all work is completed safely, efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with project plans, building codes, and company quality standards. The Siding Foreman works closely with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager to coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and daily production goals. The Foreman will have general knowledge/ understanding of all contract documents and project schedule ensuring a safe and successful project to be delivered on time. This position will work in the surrounding Pittsburgh, PA area. This position will report directly to the Self-Perform Operations Project Manager and indirectly to the Site Superintendent.

Essential Functions
Crew Leadership & Supervision
  • Lead siding installation crews on commercial job sites.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure work is performed correctly and efficiently.
  • Train and mentor crew members in proper siding installation techniques and safe work practices.
  • Promote teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work environment.

Work Planning & Execution
  • Read and interpret architectural drawings, elevation details, wall sections, and exterior finish schedules.
  • Perform layout and install siding systems including panels, lap siding, trim, flashing, vapor barriers, and related accessories.
  • Ensure installation meets manufacturer specifications, quality expectations, and local building codes.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and verify quantities and quality.
  • Operate and oversee use of lifts, scaffolding, and other equipment safely.

Safety Management
  • Enforce company and OSHA safety standards at all times.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and maintain required documentation.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safe jobsite housekeeping.

Communication & Reporting
  • Serve as the primary contact between field crew and jobsite management.
  • Report progress, production obstacles, and labor/equipment needs to the Superintendent.
  • Track time, production quantities, and material usage.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience & Skills
  • 5+ years of commercial siding experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or foreman role.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial siding systems (metal panel, fiber cement, composite panels, soffit & fascia, etc.).
  • Ability to read plans, interpret details, and execute precise layout.
  • Proficient in safe use of framing/siding tools and equipment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Other Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs.+ and work in outdoor conditions.
  • Comfortable working at heights using lifts, scaffolding, and fall protection.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (optional):
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience with large commercial or multi-family siding projects.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is regularly exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites.
Position Type
This position is a Full-Time position which will typically involves 40+ hours a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be available on-call early/late hours to deal with delays, bad weather and emergencies at the job site.
Travel
Travel percent- 0-30%, depending on projects.
