Job description

We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our growing manufacturing team in Ohio. In this role, you will manage day-to-day human resources and health & safety operations, acting as the primary point of contact for employee relations, onboarding, compliance, and performance management. The ideal candidate will balance a strong understanding of Ohio and federal labor laws with an empathetic, people-first approach to supporting our local workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to staff and management, resolving interpersonal conflicts, conducting investigations, and documenting resolutions.
  • Lead end-to-end talent integration, including background checks, orientations, and exit interviews.
  • Ensure strict adherence to federal regulations and Ohio labor laws (wage/hour compliance, local ordinances, FMLA).
  • Drive a Health and Safety culture, ensuring full compliance with local HSE reporting requirements.
  • Partner with the payroll team to process timecards, payroll, annual filings, and resolve employee inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate electronic employee records in the HRIS system and track metrics on turnover, retention, and hiring.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 3+ years of progressive human resources experience, preferably in a generalist capacity.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with ADP and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Deep knowledge of federal and Ohio employment regulations, conflict resolution skills, and clear communication abilities.

Work Environment

  • Operates in a manufacturing and warehouse environment supporting a 24/7 operation. Flexible hours, weekends, or holidays may be required as needed.
