Part-Time Sales Associate/Cashier The National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion

Part-time, benefits eligible

This part-time, 24 hour per week position, assists in the day-to-day operations of the Shrine of Our Lady of Champion Gift Shop and Cafe. This person will be in charge of the gift shop and cafรฉ and is responsible for its operation in the absence of the manager and will work closely with the manager to keep all transaction records up-to-date and accurate.

Minimum knowledge, experience and skills required:

  • Graduate from high school (or GED equivalent) with customer service experience preferably in a retail environment.
  • Experience supervising others a plus.
  • Computer/cash register experience necessary.
  • Accurately handle monetary transactions.
  • Strong verbal communications skills.
  • Proficient with computer and cash register and adding machine.
  • Flexible with good listening skills and multi-tasking skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Make decisions and take charge in manager's absence.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • General knowledge of windows-based computer systems.
  • Experience working on a computerized inventory control system.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Fast thinker with ability to work in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Comfortable working with public.
  • Meet changing conditions and solve problems in professional manner.
