What is a showroom associate?

Showroom associates are customer service professionals who work in retail showrooms, assisting customers with product selection, providing information about merchandise, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. They are responsible for maintaining the appearance of the showroom, answering customer inquiries, and sometimes processing sales transactions. Showroom associates play a key role in helping customers make informed purchasing decisions and represent the brand or company to the public.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a showroom associate, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Showroom Associate, you need strong interpersonal skills, product knowledge, and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and customer relationship management (CRM) tools is typically required. Exceptional communication, active listening, and a customer-focused attitude help you stand out in this role. These skills ensure effective customer engagement, smooth sales transactions, and a positive showroom experience that drives business success.

How does a showroom associate typically collaborate with sales and design teams to enhance the customer experience?

Showroom Associates often work closely with both sales and design teams to ensure customers receive personalized service and expert guidance. They help facilitate communication by gathering customer preferences and relaying that information to sales consultants or designers, who can then offer tailored solutions. This collaboration helps create a seamless experience for clients, from initial browsing to final purchase decisions, and allows associates to learn from other specialists, which can be valuable for professional growth.

Job description

Join the Comfort Option Team at The Corner!

Retail Associates, or as we call them, Comfort Experts (Full-Time & Part-Time)

The Corner, Lawrence, Indiana | Opening Fall 2026

Fashion Mall, Indianapolis, Indiana

Comfort Option is expanding!

This fall, Comfort Option is opening a brand new brick-and-mortar experience at The Corner — Lawrence's newest retail development, located within walking distance of Fort Benjamin Harrison. We're looking for energetic, customer-focused team members to help us create an exceptional shopping experience and introduce customers to products designed to help them rest, relax, and live more comfortably.

If you enjoy helping people, love creating exceptional customer experiences, and are energized by the excitement of launching something new, we'd love to meet you!

What You'll Do

As a Comfort Expert, you act in a customer forward role, functioning as a trusted guide, product authority, and ambassador for the Comfort Option brand.

You'll:

  • Welcome and engage customers with warmth and enthusiasm
  • Help customers find solutions that fit their comfort, lifestyle, and budget needs
  • Learn and share the story behind Comfort Option and our products
  • Create an inviting, organized, and visually appealing showroom environment
  • Support daily store operations, including opening, closing, and inventory tasks
  • Work independently while delivering an exceptional customer experience

What We're Looking For

We're less concerned about retail experience and more interested in finding people who:

  • Genuinely enjoy helping others
  • Communicate confidently and professionally
  • Take initiative and solve problems
  • Are dependable and self-motivated
  • Thrive in a team environment
  • Are excited to learn and grow

Retail, hospitality, customer service, and sales experience are all helpful—but not required.

Schedule Flexibility

We are hiring both full-time and part-time team members.

Because we're a retail business, candidates should be available to work a flexible schedule that may include:

  • Days
  • Evenings
  • Weekends
  • Occasional holidays

We'll work to create schedules that support both the needs of the business and the lives of our team members.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of something new — We're building this showroom from the ground up
  • Make your mark — Shape the experience before the doors even open
  • Work that Matters — Work with products that genuinely change how people live
  • Grow with us — We love to develop and promote from within
  • Competitive pay and benefits for eligible team members

Apply today and join the Comfort Option Team.Â
