Job Title: Cook
Department: Food Service Support Staff
Reports to: Food Service Director and/or Building Principal
Classification: Non-Exempt
Terms of Employment: 8 Hours/164 Days. Hourly rate reviewed annually and benefits according to Board policies.
Summary
Cooks and cafeteria workers are responsible for the preparation and delivery of meals through the district's food service program.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
An individual who holds this position is responsible for:
  • Prepare and serve meals and snacks to students
  • Clean and sanitize cooking and serving areas
  • Occasionally prepare and serve meals outside of the regular school day for special events
  • Set up and break down serving lines
  • Required to clock in and out each day they are scheduled to work. Clocking must reflect true time worked.
  • Count money, makes change
  • Operate basic kitchen equipment including slicers, fryers, openers and dishwashers
  • Operate a cash register
  • All other duties as required or assigned
