Job description

As aย Shop Service Supervisorย in Calgary, AB,ย you'llย lead a skilled team responsible forย maintainingย and repairing heavy equipment that supports some of the most demanding operations in the industry.ย 

This is an opportunity to combine yourย technicalย expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to safetyย while working with industry-leading Komatsu equipment.ย You'llย play a key role in driving performance, supporting employee development, and ensuring high-quality service for our customers.ย 

Location:ย Calgary, ABย 
Base Salary:ย $108,000 - $116,000 per yearย 
Work Arrangement:ย On-siteย 
Schedule:ย Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with occasional overtime asย requiredย 

What You'll Doย 

  • Oversee daily shop operations, workflow scheduling, and coordination of tradespeople to meet operational requirements.ย 
  • Assign work andย allocateย resources toย optimizeย productivity and equipment turnaround times.ย 
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and technical support to technicians and apprentices.ย 
  • Perform in-process and post-repair inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with standards.ย 
  • Enforce company policies, safe work practices, OHSE standards, and regulatory requirements.ย 
  • Review and support the completion of work orders, service quotes, warranty documentation, and technical reports.ย 
  • Resolve service-related issues and communicate repair solutions with customers and internal stakeholders.ย 
  • Coordinate activities with lead hands, welders, subcontractors, and field service teams asย required.ย 
  • Support employee training, performance development, and cross-training opportunities.ย 
  • Participate in incident investigations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.ย 

What You Bringย 

You bringย 2+ years of supervisory experienceย andย 5+ years of heavy equipment industry experience,ย along with strong technical knowledge of Komatsu and other OEM equipment. You are a safety-focused leader who can effectively support technicians, manage shop operations, and deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.ย 

  • Strong understanding of OH&S legislation, safety management systems, and inspection requirements.ย 
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and manage shop resources effectively.ย 
  • Strong communicationย and problem-solving skills.ย 
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to make sound decisions independently.ย 
  • Commitment to developing team members through coaching, mentoring, and ongoing support.ย
