The Shop Lead is responsible for leading the production team assigned to a specific project. This is a hands-on role focused on custom builds, cabinetry, and exhibit fabrication. The Shop Lead works alongside the team to turn drawings and designs into high-quality, finished pieces while keeping the project on schedule.


Requirements:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the shop team assigned to a specific project.
  • Review project drawings and requirements before work begins.
  • Assign daily tasks and keep the team focused on project priorities.
  • Work alongside the team to fabricate and assemble project components.
  • Monitor quality and ensure work meets project specifications.
  • Communicate project progress, questions, or issues to the Shop Foreman.
  • Help resolve production issues that arise during the project.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area.
  • Ensure the project is completed on schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • 3+ years of fabrication, exhibit, construction, or manufacturing experience.
  • Previous leadership or lead experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and production documents.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
