Job description

IMMEDIATE HIRING — ARMED SECURITY OFFICER

Pacific River Security — Vigor Shipyard, Harbor Island, Seattle, WA

We're hiring now. Pacific River Security is looking for qualified Washington State Licensed Armed Security Officers — with a valid license and CJTC Armed Certificate — to support a federal maritime contract at Vigor Shipyard, an active industrial site performing repair and maintenance on U.S. Navy and other government vessels.

This is a hard-target, access-controlled federal facility — not a commercial property post. Officers handle entry control, patrol, and access control duties, with some rotation through vessel/boat crew assignments in all-weather, on-water conditions. This work suits candidates who perform well independently, hold themselves to a high standard, and bring a calm, professional presence to long static assignments.

SCHEDULE

- 12-hour rotating shifts: Day 0600–1800 or Night 1800–0600

- All posts staffed 24/7 — reliable attendance and on-time relief are essential

- Occasional holdover until relief arrives

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Control access to a federal maritime facility and active shipyard worksite

- Patrol assigned areas, including waterside posts

- Report incidents accurately and promptly

- Interact professionally with employees, vendors, and visitors

- De-escalate and resolve conflicts effectively

- Operate two-way radios, surveillance systems, and access control equipment

- Maintain weapon holstered and ready per post orders — use-of-force standards on this contract are strict and closely enforced

- Document activity and complete checkpoint scans via TrackTik

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Active Washington State Armed Security Guard License (valid, not expired)

- CJTC Armed Certificate

- Able to pass a federal background check

- U.S. citizenship required — hard requirement for this federal contract

- Own duty pistol, Level II+ retention holster, duty belt, and three magazines meeting agency specs (FMJ/ball ammunition not authorized)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 1+ years armed security, law enforcement, or military experience

- Prior maritime, port, or shipyard security experience

- Strong report writing and communication skills

- Sound independent judgment and situational awareness

WHAT WE OFFER

- Steady, full-time hours on a long-term federal contract

- A high-standards site with clear post orders and consistent supervision

- Potential cross-training opportunities, including a rifle qualification cadre program as the contract develops
