Job description

360X Staffing is hiring for Marine Painters in South Point, OH.

Pay: $27/hr + $130 daily per diem for days worked

Job Description:

We are seeking experienced Marine Painters to support the new construction of barges and tugboats at a shipbuilding facility along the Ohio River in South Point, OH. Painters will be responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing steel surfaces in accordance with project specifications and quality standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare steel surfaces for painting through grinding, sanding, chipping, scraping, and other surface-preparation methods.
  • Apply marine coatings using airless spray, conventional spray, rollers, and brushes.
  • Mix and apply primers, paints, epoxies, and protective marine coatings according to manufacturer and project specifications.
  • Perform coating work on vessel interiors, exteriors, decks, tanks, bulkheads, and structural components.
  • Maintain proper coating thickness and coverage while minimizing runs, sags, overspray, and other defects.
  • Inspect completed work and correct deficiencies as required.
  • Safely operate painting equipment, compressors, hoses, grinders, and other tools.
  • Follow all shipyard safety procedures, PPE requirements, and confined-space/hot-work restrictions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:

  • Previous marine, shipyard, industrial, or commercial painting experience preferred.
  • Experience with airless spray equipment and industrial/marine coatings strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow coating specifications and instructions.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying outdoor conditions.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, climb, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
  • Must provide required PPE and be willing to follow all site safety requirements.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong commitment to quality and safety are required.

Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Working Hours: 50+ hours per week
