Job description

Shipyard Dry-Dock Reliability Technologist

At Everett Ship Repair (Everett, WA), the premier Pacific Northwest hub for commercial vessel repair and conversion, we’re expanding to serve even more sophisticated work—commercial and defense—and we’re looking for a dry-dock reliability specialist to help lead the way.

What You’ll Do
  • Coordinate lifecycle maintenance, repair, modernization, and overhaul of ESR dry-dock systems.
  • Execute work packages aligned to NAVSEA Standard Items, TMs, drawings, and Work Specifications.
  • Apply and enforce OSHA, NAVSEA, and yard safety rules, including gas-free, confined space, and hot work.
  • Track work progress, manpower, materials, costs, and schedule; report variances and corrective plans.
  • Inspect mechanical, piping, and auxiliary systems during all dry-dock evolutions.
  • Maintain configuration control, verify work authorization, and keep documentation complete and accurate.
  • Approve JHAs, work control forms, and test/inspection plans.
  • Drive daily production meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefs.
  • Flag growth work and discrepancies; collaborate with the Dry Dock Maintenance Supervisor to resolve.
  • Support NAVSEA, SUPSHIP, and DoD audits, inspections, and certifications.
  • Advance equipment readiness, QA, and fleet reliability outcomes.
Must-Have Background
  • Diploma or higher degree.
  • 2–3 years (minimum) in maintenance, overhaul, or shipyard operations.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance methodologies.
  • Familiar with OSHA requirements.
  • NAVSEA Standard Items familiarity (preferred).

Security & Compliance
  • Compliance with ITAR, export control regulations, and classified material handling procedures is required.
Work Environment
  • Naval shipyards, dry docks, and other restricted-access facilities.
  • Extended hours, shift work, weekends, and on-call coverage as needed during critical evolutions.
  • Exposure to confined spaces, heights, hazardous materials, noise, and marine conditions.
  • PPE use and adherence to safety/security procedures are mandatory.
