This position will begin as a temporary assignment through our partnered employment agency. Based on performance and business needs, there is potential for the role to transition into a regular Hale employee position.

POSITION SUMMARY

This is a full-time, on-site position at Hale Products Inc. focused on supporting shipping operations by picking, preparing, and processing items for delivery. The role involves handling materials, using basic systems and equipment, and following standard procedures to ensure orders are completed accurately.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Retrieve product for shipment from multiple material storage locations.
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing product to verify information against Picking Ticket or other records.
  • Assembles containers in accordance with shipper/customer specifications to ensure safe delivery of product to customer's location.
  • Process shipping information utilizing shippers software.
  • Affixes shipping information to packaged container for identification by carrier and or customer.
  • Apply special package handling instructions as required by carrier and or customer.
  • Utilize material handling devices for retrieval and movement of product, i.e. forklift.
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct in dealings with carrier, vendors, and customers.
  • Support late parcel pickup operations and close of business duties.
  • All other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES

  • Ability to clearly write information pertinent to customer request in English.
  • Ability to read written instructions in English.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using measurements in weight, volume, and quantity.
  • Maintain professional conduct in dealing with customers and vendors.
  • Ability to use common sense to carry out written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer skills to navigate inventory/shipping applications and send emails.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least 3 months of experience in fast-paced shipping operations.
  • High school education or equivalent, or up to six-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus to read BOMs, work orders, and pick tickets. May be exposed to various workplace hazards, including but not limited to chemicals, machinery, and noise. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
