Job description

Apex Placement & Consulting is partnering with a manufacturing company in Sterling Heights, MI to identify an experienced Shipping & Receiving Associate. This position will initially work on day shift with a 6:00 AM start time and will transition to 2nd shift beginning at 2:00 PM in November.The ideal candidate will have hands-on shipping and receiving experience within a manufacturing environment, including dock operations, cycle counting, shipping processes, and forklift operation. PLEX experience is very strongly preferred. Candidates without PLEX experience may still be considered; however, demonstrated job longevity and employment stability will be especially important.What's in it for you:- Current Schedule: Day Shift – 6:00 AM start

  • Hourly wage up to $22.00per hour

What your day will look like:- Perform daily shipping and receiving activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Prepare, process, and verify outgoing shipments for accuracy.
  • Receive incoming materials, components, and supplies and verify quantities against shipping documentation.
  • Perform regular cycle counts and assist with maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Investigate and report inventory discrepancies.
  • Support dock operations, including loading and unloading trucks.
  • Safely operate a forklift to move, stage, load, and unload materials.
  • Stage materials and finished products for shipment or production.
  • Verify shipping documents, labels, quantities, and part numbers.
  • Ensure products are properly packaged and prepared for shipment.
  • Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions within the ERP system.
  • Utilize PLEX for shipping, receiving, inventory, and material transactions.
  • Work closely with Production, Materials, Supply Chain, and Quality teams.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping/receiving and dock area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and forklift operating requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS- Previous Shipping & Receiving experience, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Previous forklift experience required.
  • Experience with loading/unloading trucks and general dock operations.
  • Experience performing cycle counts and maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail when processing shipments and inventory transactions.
  • Basic computer and ERP system experience.
  • PLEX experience is very strongly preferred but not required.
  • Candidates without PLEX experience must demonstrate strong job stability and longevity with previous employers.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be comfortable transitioning from day shift to 2nd shift in November.
