Job description

Sr Shipping Receiving Supervisor

CTDI is a large-scale Engineering, Repair, and Logistics company that services the country's largest wireless telecommunications providers, as well as the largest High-speed Internet & Cable providers. Sr Shipping Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound warehouse operations, ensuring the accurate, timely, and efficient movement of goods. This position leads a team of shipping and receiving staff, enforces safety and quality standards, and collaborates with other warehouse functions to optimize workflow and meet business objectives.

1st Shift: 8:00AM - 5:00PM, Monday - Friday

Recommendation on Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 (depending on level of prior experience).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all incoming and outgoing shipments, including verifying contents, inspecting for damage, and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and receipt of materials.
  • Monitor and improve warehouse processes to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and minimize costs.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by performing cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and reporting variances.
  • Ensure customer compliance requirements are met for accuracy and processing times.
  • Prepare, maintain, and analyze customer and internal reports, noting trends and actionable items.
  • Develop and implement action plans for new or existing processes to maximize efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
  • Collaborate with warehouse management on strategic initiatives and workflow improvements.
  • Assist in P&L forecasting and analysis, including labor planning and scheduling.
  • Train employees on department procedures and processes, ensuring adherence to standards.
  • Engages in employee relations initiatives, promptly addressing and resolving employee concerns to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with management and customers to ensure SLAs are met and issues are promptly resolved.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth and effective shipping processes.
  • Meet or surpass daily Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with accurate reporting that consistently meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Provide first-level support for escalated operational issues during the work shift.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • All other duties assigned, based on the business the warehouse supports.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 4-5+ years of warehouse experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping, receiving, and overall warehouse operations.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Skilled at maintaining precise, organized records that support operational efficiency and informed decision-making.
  • Demonstrates leadership and interpersonal skills, effectively communicating, motivating, and influencing team members and peers across the organization.
  • Capable of coordinating complex workloads, organizing tasks, and consistently meeting deadlines in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Applies problem-solving skills and sound judgment to address operational challenges and drive process improvements.
  • Able to engage professionally with customers when required.
  • General knowledge of OSHA standards and workplace safety practices.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity with labor planning, resource allocation, or operational forecasting.
  • Experience tracking and analyzing performance metrics, KPIs, or operational reports.
  • Forklift certification and/or experience operating warehouse equipment.
  • Lean/Six Sigma or process improvement experience.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices.
  • Supervising temporary staff.
  • Experience working with UKG.

Educational Requirements:

  • Associates degree preferred or equivalent work experience
