Position Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving incoming materials, verifying shipments, preparing outgoing orders, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This role helps ensure products are received, stored, and shipped accurately while maintaining compliance with food safety and quality standards.

This is a hands-on, physical role in a food manufacturing and warehouse environment.


Key Responsibilities

Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders

Inspect products for damage, accuracy, and quality upon receipt

Complete receiving documentation, including lot numbers and shipping records

Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including Bills of Lading and shipping paperwork

Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently

Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment

Stage and organize inventory within the warehouse

Maintain accurate inventory and warehouse records

Process UPS and other carrier shipments

Inspect trucks for cleanliness prior to loading and unloading

Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices

Follow GMP, SOP, and SSOP procedures

Maintain clean and organized warehouse areas

Report any safety, quality, or food safety concerns

Assist production and warehouse teams as needed


Qualifications

Required

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum two years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience

Ability to lift up to 60 lbs

Basic computer, math, reading, and writing skills

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift

Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Team-oriented mindset

Preferred

Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification

Experience in food manufacturing or food distribution

Experience with shipping software and inventory systems

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
