Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide daily work direction, training, and support to shipping and receiving employees.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, labeling, packing slips, and shipping documents.
  • Schedule pickups and deliveries with UPS, FedEx, freight carriers, local delivery services, customers, and vendors.
  • Complete and verify all shipping transactions in M2M when materials are shipped.
  • Receive incoming production and non-inventory materials.
  • Confirm the supplier, purchase order, part number, quantity, lot or serial number, packing slip, and condition of received materials.
  • Complete receiving transactions on the correct purchase order line in M2M.
  • Direct received materials to inventory, inspection, production, hold, or staging areas.
  • Receive and process returned materials, including RMAs and outside-processing returns.
  • Make sure physical shipments and receipts match the information entered in M2M.
  • Investigate and help resolve missing, incorrect, or unposted transactions.
  • Monitor materials on the dock, in inspection, in staging, or waiting to ship.
  • Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and traceability records.
  • Maintain shipping supplies and request additional supplies when needed.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory investigations involving shipping, receiving, or staging areas.
  • Work with Planning, Purchasing, Customer Service, Quality, Operations, Warehouse, and other departments to resolve issues.
  • Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Make sure employees complete M2M transactions when the physical shipment or receipt occurs.
  • Do not allow workarounds that cause differences between physical inventory and M2M.
  • Escalate purchase order, sales order, part number, quantity, lot, serial number, location, or system problems.
  • Confirm that important shipping and receiving tasks are completed each day.
  • Notify management before a delay affects a customer or production commitment.
  • Train employees so there is backup coverage for both shipping and receiving duties.
Qualifications
  • Three to five years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, inventory control, materials, or related manufacturing experience.
  • Previous experience leading, training, or providing daily direction to employees.
  • Experience using an ERP system for shipping, receiving, inventory, and material transactions.
  • M2M or similar manufacturing ERP experience is preferred.
  • Experience with inventory counts, reconciliation, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Experience using UPS, FedEx, freight-carrier, and other shipping programs.
  • Knowledge of purchase orders, packing slips, sales orders, inventory locations, and lot or serial-number tracking.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Basic Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and support the daily work of others.
Education and Certifications
  • Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business, or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent with at least five years of related experience and team-lead responsibilities may be considered instead of a degree.

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods depending on shift requirements.
  • The position may involve moderate noise, moving equipment, fumes, airborne particles, or manufacturing chemicals.
