Job description

Under the supervision of the Logistics Supervisor, the Shipping & Receiving Clerkย is responsible forย receiving and storing material, supplies, and transporting raw materials and/or finished goods within shipping, receiving, and bindery departments.ย ย The Shipping & Receiving Clerk may also be called upon toย assistย the manager in other areas of the warehouse department.ย  ย ย 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not allinclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management mayย deemย necessary from time to time.ย 

  • Verify materials received against purchase requisition. Receive product into inventory system.ย 

  • Release material toย productionย area.ย 

  • Read job tickets toย determineย material needed, material location, and proper destination.ย 

  • Transport materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas using a forklift or hand truck.ย 

  • Maintain inventory records onย computerย system.ย 

  • Periodically, take inventory of material and supplies in storage as assigned.ย Notify manager of low inventory supplyย 

  • Wrap and prepare skids for shipment orย returnย as necessary.ย 

  • Load and Unload Trucks/Vansย ย ย ย 

  • Maintain warehouse; ensure neat and orderly storage of material.ย 

  • Complete andย maintainย all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.ย 

  • Follow andย comply withย all safety, work rules, and regulations.ย ย ย ย 

  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.ย 

  • Operate company vehicles to deliver or pick upย productย as needed (backup).ย 

  • Backup to the Logistics Supervisor in the daytoday operation of the department when required.ย ย These duties will include:ย ย ย 

    • Coordinate Marek drivers for daily deliveries.ย 

    • Reply to Emails from Sales/CSR Staff to coordinate deliveries,ย pickupsย and other shipping/receiving issues.ย ย ย 

    • Prepare documents such as: Shipping schedules, Bills ofย Ladingย and shipping orders to route deliveries.ย ย ย 

    • Contact Carrier Representatives to make arrangements for shipping and delivery of materials and finished goods.ย ย ย 

    • Attend Production Meetings to go over the daily schedule toย accomplishย the delivery of all jobs due that day.ย ย ย ย ย 

  • Other Duties and Responsibilitiesย 

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.ย 

    • Provides leadership to others throughย exampleย andย sharing ofย knowledge/skill.ย 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires educationย generally equivalentย to a high school diploma and one to three years of related experience.ย 

  • Previousย shipping,ย receivingย and supervisory experience is desired.ย 

  • Ability to use a computer to receive materials, record inventory moves, check inventory status, get shippingย estimatesย and process shipments.ย 

  • Ability toย operate, load, and troubleshoot a pallet wrapper.ย 

  • Ability to become certified toย operateย a sitdown and standup forklift.ย ย ย 

  • Ability to lead others and delegate tasks as necessaryย
