Job description

TRC Talent is looking for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk for our client in Marietta

Job Summary:
Oversee functions within the warehouse and ensuring the smooth operations of all shipping and receiving activities. Requires handling and managing of all warehouse procedures and adhering to necessary safety procedures.

Job Details:

  • 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

  • $21/hr

  • Temp to hire opportunity

  • Located in Marietta

Job Duties:

  • Ensuring the proper functioning of all warehouse forklifts, equipment and machinery.

  • Pull inventory from shelves and racks for shipment using a forklift.

  • Package product for shipping to include boxing, labeling, bar coding, palletizing, shrink wrapping, etc.

  • Stage finished product for loading onto freight lines.

  • Responsible for overseeing all packaging to conform to freight rules and regulations, customer needs and expectations.

  • Schedule shipments using specialized software and other means as necessary to maintain on time customer deliveries.

  • Maintain contact with current shipping/receiving suppliers and constantly seeks new vendors to improve cost controls and quality of supplied goods.

  • Submit Purchase Orders for shipping supplies and negotiate pricing of items for management approval.

  • Print UPS/FedEx labels and apply to boxes, generate and print bill of lading documents for LTL shipments.

  • Receive inventory and place in proper locations within warehouse using bar code system and forklift.

  • Oversee all warehouse stocking locations to maintain proper bar coding, item descriptions, quantity and general overall cleanliness and of items on racks, shelves, pallets and boxes including all items on the floor in and around the shipping/receiving area.

  • Ensure all work areas are clean and maintained. Must be safety conscious and follow all safety rules.

  • Count inventory as needed and during annual physical inventory.

Job Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Business Administration and/or Management Certificate helpful.

  • Mid level reading, writing and mathematics skills required.

  • Familiar with basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

  • Able to work with Specialized Shipping/Freight line software

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Able to perform negotiations with packaging supply vendors and freight lines.

  • Ability to operate both a standing order picker and regular forklifts.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Manual dexterity and strength to operate machinery and manipulate shipping loads.
