About the Role

The Receiving Associate is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting inbound shipments to maintain inventory accuracy, product integrity, and food safety compliance. This role supports efficient warehouse operations while ensuring all products meet company, customer, and regulatory requirements.


  • Receive and verify inbound shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
  • Inspect products for damage, shortages, temperature issues, or contamination
  • Accurately record received inventory in the WMS
  • Label, palletize, and stage products for put-away
  • Follow GMPs, food safety, and sanitation standards at all times
  • Ensure proper segregation of damaged, expired, or non-conforming product
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready receiving area
  • Communicate discrepancies or issues to Operations and Inventory teams
  • Operate material handling equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts if certified)
  • Comply with all safety policies and SOPs
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and warehouse food safety procedures
  • Maintain personal hygiene standards, including handwashing and PPE use
  • Prevent cross-contamination through proper handling and storage practices
  • Identify and report food safety risks or quality concerns immediately
  • Participate in required food safety and GMP training


About the Person

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Warehouse or receiving experience preferred
  • Basic computer and data entry skills; WMS experience a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet for extended periods
