Job description

Description:

SUMMARY Works in conjunction with the Shipping Supervisor and/or Load Coordinator to ensure the correct and timely completion of any assigned pick tickets, AWOs, and Receivers.

Responsible for all assigned activities associated with housekeeping, Inventory control, and warehousing of materials.

Effectively manages time to meet set targets and deadlines.

Essential duties and responsibilities are described below. Other duties may be assigned

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (Essential duties and responsibilities)

1. Follow all safety, environmental and operational procedures

(Wearing appropriate PPE in work areas, use of wheel chocks, jack stands, handling of propane canisters)

2. Responsible for maintaining and returning all assigned electronic equipment on a daily basis.

(Tablets, scanners, radios)

3. Complete pre-shift inspection of forklift and report any damage or required maintenance.

4. Responsible for completing Activity Log during each shift.

5. Responsible for the completion of all assigned pick tickets, AWOs, and receivers according to procedures in a timely manner.

6. Responsible for completing all paperwork associated with inventory control required while performing assigned tasks.

(Lost, Found, and Damage reports. Location change sheets)

7. Each forklift driver is responsible for repairing and reporting any damaged material that occurs during the loading or relocating of inventory.

8. Works with Distribution Manager and Supervisor to report any accidents, incidents or near misses immediately.

OTHER DUTIES

Maintaining a clean and safe work environment is the responsibility of all warehouse staff.

This includes but is not limited to standard housekeeping, sweeping and trash removal

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma or equivalent, OR TWO (2) years of relevant forklift operating experience.

Excellent communications skills in English, verbal and written, is required.

The ability to speak and communicate effectively in Spanish is acceptable as well.

Demonstrate the ability to prioritize assigned responsibilities, investigate and resolve problems and handle several projects at once.

ADDITIONAL TRAINING REQUIRED (or to be provided, if necessary)

Each forklift driver must complete the Packwell approved forklift certification program.

(Certification must be renewed every 3 years)
