TITLE: Residential Automated Side Load Driver

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Residential Supervisor

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt


Position Summary:


The Residential Automated Side Load Driver, under direction of the Residential Supervisor, empties company issued residential waste receptacles for Tiger Sanitation customers, utilizing an automated side load vehicle.


Education and Experience


Possess a valid Class A or B Driver’s License

  • 1 year minimum of professional commercial driving experience within the sanitation industry required
  • 1-year Automated Side Load driving experience required
  • Must have participated in Tiger Sanitation's Residential Driver Apprentice Program or have a minimum of one (1) year's experience.


Essential Functions:


· Performs and documents pre-trip and post-trip inspections of company issued vehicles

· Empties residential waste receptacles indicated on daily route sheet using an automated side load vehicle and other approved waste that may not be able to be serviced with the vehicles automated arm

· Actively communicates all changes to daily route sheet to the dispatch team

· Notifies supervisor immediately of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage that may occur while completing activities on route

· Reviews and completes daily work orders

· Ensures accurate completion of route sheet and VCR by the end of each day

· Occasionally operate a conventional rear load vehicle, when needed

· Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to safely operate a DOT vehicle from both right and left side driving positions
  • Ability to operate joystick controls with precision
  • Ability to proficiently navigate, in forward and reverse motion, driveways, alleyways high traffic roadways with potential limited overhead and compact areas
  • Ability to operate vehicles in accordance with OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state, and federal law
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds, with or without assistance
  • Ability to convey Tiger Sanitation as the obvious choice for our customers, employees, and community.

Driver Sign on Bonus

Drivers who are hired from March 26, 2026, through September 26, 2026, who meet the qualifications listed below, will be eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $5,000 depending on experience.


Driver Sign on Bonus Qualifications:

- Must be hired as a Residential Automated Side Load Driver or Residential Rear Load Driver.

- Must have minimum 2 years verified experience in the role they were hired for. EX: A Residential Automated Side Load or Rear Load driver must have minimum 2 years of previous experience operating an Automated Side Load or Rear Load vehicle, in the waste/recycle industry.

- Must not receive any disciplinary action during the bonus pay out period.

- Driver will be eligible for a sign on bonus or referral bonus, not both. Employees who refer a qualified applicant who qualifies for the sign on bonus, will be eligible for a referral bonus but the employee must be listed on the application under "Referred By".

Rehires do not qualify for the sign on bonus.
