Job description

Description


The production /shipping role will assemble the company's products, quality check, and pack according to specifications, and assist with shipping and receiving.


Duties/Responsibilities:


Reads blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, then builds the company's products to those specifications.

Uses various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.

Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine/equipment maintenance, and product inconsistencies.

Checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor.

Maintains production logs, inventories, documentation, and reports, including those outlining procedures, batch records, inventory, productivity, changeover, and progress.

Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks and trailers; checks against suppliers' count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers, supervisor, and purchasing officer per company policy.

Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments.

Carefully and accurately maintains shipping records for requested categories, including goods returned, dunnage, and returnable pallets.

Maintains a database of shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments as required.

Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.

Prepares bills of lading and dray tickets for shipments.

Completes information on damage claims for in-transit damage.

Transports materials on the shipping dock with a hand truck or other vehicle as needed.

Loads trucks using a forklift or hand truck.

Performs other related duties as assigned.



Requirements


Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as necessary to complete logs or records.

Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics, and basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing.

Detail-oriented and consistent.

Works well as a productive member of a team.


Education and Experience:


High school diploma or equivalent required.

Two (2) years of related experience


Physical Requirements:


Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

Must have manual dexterity to assemble products or machines as directed.

Must have excellent hand-eye coordination and the ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.

Must wear required PPE.
