Xpressdocs is looking for a Shipping Technician to join our Distributions team. The Shipping Technician performs any and all tasks as directed by the Dept. Manager that pertain to shipping operations. The Shipping Technician is responsible for, quality assurance of all items being packaged, Data entry, accuracy of orders going to correct locations, sorting orders, forklift operation, loading finished product, material moving. These are just some of the responsibilities and does not include all.

In this position, you will:

  • Read, understand and adhere to all existing procedures as they relate to the position of Shipping Technician. The Shipping Technician is accountable for all assigned responsibilities as outlined in procedures.
  • Be responsible for packaging and shipping 300-500 packages daily.
  • Be able to stand for the entire shift.
  • Possess the ability to operate a forklift to move material and load the FedEx trailer at the end of shift (will be internally certified)
  • Possess the ability to visually inspect materials for defects as it flows through the shipping department. Quality checking is a big part of this position.
  • Have basic computer skills.
  • Cross training across both shifts. Potentially be required to work morning shift as needed.
  • Be accountable for meeting or exceeding the standards and expectations of the Department Manager.
  • Participate in maintaining standards.
  • Adhere to all Company policies and safety regulations.
  • Report all problems to Department Manager.
  • Report to work when assigned and on time.
  • Cooperate with supervisors and fellow co-workers.
  • Keep your work area clean an organized.

This job description outlines the primary responsibilities of the position. Employees may be required to perform other duties as assigned by management to meet the needs of the organization.

You’ll thrive in this role if you possess:

  • The ability to lift 20lbs on a regular basis and occasionally lift and/or move 75lbs
  • The ability to repetitively lift 10-35 lbs. for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to stand and walk up to 80% of the time
  • The ability to stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time
  • The ability to move throughout all departments within the company
  • The ability to be around loud machinery for up to 12 hours/day
  • The ability to be confined in a small area
  • The ability to operate all types of machines, phones and computers
