Job Description

INFICON is seeking an experienced Distribution & Logistics Manager to oversee warehousing, logistics, distribution, and trade compliance activities. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient, accurate, and compliant flow of materials and finished products through the end-to-end distribution network.

Candidates should have a strong background in logistics and distribution leadership within a technically sophisticated manufacturing environment, with proven experience managing inventory control, freight coordination, customs and trade requirements, and ERP-based operational processes. The role requires a hands-on leader capable of improving operational efficiency, developing high-performing teams, and supporting ongoing business growth and process optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead warehouse and distribution operations including receiving, putaway, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and returns.
  • Implement warehouse excellence initiatives using lean principles, 5S, slotting optimization, and standard work to improve accuracy, cycle time, and productivity.
  • Manage key KPIs such as on-time shipment rate, order fill rate, pick accuracy, dock-to-stock cycle time, throughput, and cost per unit shipped.
  • Oversee warehouse layout, space utilization, and operational flow optimization.
  • Advance warehouse technology including ERP warehouse modules, RF and barcode systems, and automation tools.
  • Lead inventory accuracy programs including cycle counting, audits, and root cause analysis, and manage excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Manage outbound transportation including carrier and freight forwarder selection, contracting, performance tracking, and cost optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with export regulations, classification, documentation, and customs requirements, and maintain audit readiness.
  • Own ERP warehouse and logistics execution processes and partner with IT on system improvements.
  • Lead and develop teams across warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and trade compliance.
Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.

Required Experience

  • 8 to 12 years of experience in logistics, distribution center management, or inventory operations within an advanced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing complex outbound networks, trade compliance requirements, and large-scale inventory value.
  • Advanced SAP WM/EWM expertise and strong understanding of SAP MM and SD logistics integration.  
  • Experience with WMS and TMS platforms to improve warehouse and transportation performance.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control methodologies including ABC analysis, cycle counting, and excess and obsolete inventory management.
  • Working knowledge of export regulations, tariff classification, incoterms, and customs brokerage.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.

Preferred Experience

  • Master’s degree or MBA.
  • Industry experience in semiconductor equipment, precision instruments, medical devices, industrial technology, or aerospace and defense.
  • Certifications such as APICS CLTD, CSCP, CES, or Lean Six Sigma.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information

The expected salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $130,000 per year. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit-sharing bonus with a target of 10% as well as 401K match up to 8% (vesting schedule).
