Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping Assistant to support the daily operations of the shipping department. This individual will work under the guidance of the Shipping Manager to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient handling of outbound shipments, compliance with shipping protocols, and smooth coordination with logistics providers. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is organized, and takes pride in accuracy and consistency.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing and processing shipping documentation such as packing lists, labels, and bills of lading.
  • Coordinate and schedule pickups with freight carriers and small parcel delivery services.
  • Verify outgoing shipments for accuracy and completeness before loading.
  • Ensure correct packaging, labeling, and documentation for each outbound order.
  • Enter shipment information into the ERP or shipping system (e.g., Epicor P21, FedEx, UPS).
  • Support the Shipping Manager in implementing standardized processes across locations.
  • Maintain clean and organized shipping areas, ensuring safety and workflow efficiency.
  • Perform daily audits to check shipping accuracy and report any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with customer service and warehouse teams to resolve shipping-related issues.
  • Assist in tracking and following up on delayed or damaged shipments with carriers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred.
