Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the daily operations of our shipping and receiving department at our Texas manufacturing plant. The successful candidate will ensure efficient, accurate, and timely processing of inbound and outbound shipments while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Shipping:
  • Coordinate outbound shipments, including scheduling, routing, and carrier selection
  • utilizing the IFS freight desk and carriers of record.
  • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, laws, and company policies and established processes and procedures.
  • Verify accuracy of shipments, including weights, quantities, dimensions, and labeling.
  • Resolve shipping discrepancies and issues.

Receiving:
  • Oversee inbound shipment receipt, inspection, and processing.
  • Verify accuracy of received goods, including quantity, condition, and documentation.
  • Ensure timely and efficient stocking and storage.
  • Investigate and resolve receiving discrepancies.

Inventory Control
  • Ensures that system transactions are made to coincide with the physical movements of all materials.
  • Ensures that daily / weekly cycle counts are conducted, and any variances are communicated, investigated and resolved.
  • Participates in end of year physical inventories

Supervisory:
  • Ensure that all subordinates are working safely and complying with our EHS requirements at all times.
  • Lead, train, and develop a team of shipping and receiving staff.
  • Monitor productivity, efficiency, and performance of the team.
  • Address employee concerns, conflicts, and disciplinary actions.
  • Implement process improvements and best practices.

Administrative:
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
  • Manage inventory control, including tracking and reporting.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., customer service, production).
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, D.O.T. and safety regulations.

Requirements
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in shipping and receiving supervision
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, logistics, and inventory management
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse
  • Operate forklifts, both (sit down and stand up.)
  • Work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
