Job description

Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Coordinator

Position Overview

The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for managing the movement of materials in and out of a well-maintained aerospace machining facility. This position ensures all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately, documented thoroughly, and handled efficiently. The role also supports inventory accuracy and contributes to maintaining a safe and organized workspace.


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records across shipping logs, inventory systems, and departmental databases to support full material traceability
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, scales, banding tools, and labeling systems safely and effectively
  • Receive, sort, inspect, count, and properly store incoming materials while preparing outgoing shipments according to schedule requirements
  • Verify incoming shipments by reviewing packing slips against purchase orders to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Package, label, and prepare materials for shipment in compliance with carrier and internal standards
  • Handle customer returns, ensuring prompt processing and proper documentation
  • Identify opportunities to improve packaging, shipping workflows, and overall departmental efficiency
  • Inspect materials for defects or damage, document findings, and communicate discrepancies for resolution
  • Assign priorities, support workflow coordination, and assist with training team members as needed
  • Use computer systems for data entry, tracking inventory, and maintaining shipping records
  • Follow 6S workplace organization standards to ensure a clean, orderly environment
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, including proper use of PPE and safe handling practices
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and operational procedures
  • Provide support across warehouse, logistics, and production functions as needed

Required Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of experience in shipping/receiving, logistics, warehouse, or manufacturing environments
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment
  • Intermediate computer skills, including familiarity with inventory or shipping software
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and material handling
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Work Environment & Schedule

Overtime opportunities may be available based on workload.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
