Job description

The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for checking in packages and matching to open work orders and preparing orders for shipment. This role contributes to the success of the company by ensuring order accuracy and timely printing and delivery of customer orders. This is a non-exempt, full-time position requiring an average of 40 hours per week. Although overtime is expected during high volume periods, the typical schedule is during regular business hours, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am-4:00 pm.

Requirements

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Receiving deliveries and unloading boxes into the receiving/staging area
  • Obtaining an accurate count of all incoming inventory, maintaining records of incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Comparing received goods to sales/work orders and following up on any inventory discrepancies
  • Confirming the final count of completed orders
  • Packing, creating shipping labels, and preparing completed orders for shipping
  • Ensuring proper shipping methods to meet important customer deadlines
  • Updating order logs/records and sending shipping notices in a timely manner
  • Follow all safety protocols
  • Cross-training other team members as needed
  • Split shipping and packaging orders for split ship
  • Preparing pallets for pick up, wrapping, weighing and staging
  • Communicating shipping and receiving details with customers over email
  • Other duties and tasks as needed, such as cleaning and organizing shipping and receiving areas

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Frequently operating a forklift and other warehouse equipment
  • Available to work (hours): Monday - Friday during regular business hours. Occasional evening, weekend and holiday hours may be necessary during peak seasons.
