Job Title: Shipping Manager

Join a leading manufacturing organization that produces high‑volume consumer and industrial equipment. Our client is dedicated to operational excellence and delivering superior products to major retail partners. As a Shipping Manager, you will oversee outbound logistics, ensuring shipments meet stringent retailer compliance and on‑time delivery expectations.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead all outbound shipping operations for the facility, handling 30‑50 truckloads daily.
  • Coordinate trailer loading, shipment scheduling, carrier appointments, and outbound warehouse activities.
  • Ensure accurate picking, wrapping, staging, loading, documentation, and dispatch of shipments.
  • Manage Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs) and maintain shipping documentation compliance.
  • Maintain communication with TL, LTL, and small‑package carriers to guarantee timely deliveries.
  • Drive retail compliance by adhering to customer routing guides, pallet configurations, labeling, and documentation.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 8‑12 shipping associates, establishing SOPs and training programs.


Must-Have Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years managing shipping, outbound warehouse, logistics or distribution in high‑volume manufacturing.
  • Proven experience shipping to major retailers such as Home Depot, Lowe’s, Walmart, Costco, Target or Amazon.
  • Strong knowledge of retailer routing guides, vendor compliance, and shipping documentation (ASN, BOL, etc.).
  • Expertise in coordinating TL, LTL, and small‑package shipments.
  • Demonstrated ability to reduce shipping errors, chargebacks, and compliance issues.
  • Leadership experience supervising 8‑12 shipping personnel, including training and SOP development.
  • Proficiency with KPI development, continuous improvement, and Lean/Kaizen methodologies.
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, etc.) preferred.


Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with manufacturing environments and production scheduling.
  • Knowledge of WMS platforms such as Manhattan, Blue Yonder, RedPrairie, HighJump, SAP WM/EWM.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to manage inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, and physical inventory.
  • Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills with warehouse, production, and customer service teams.
