Job description

Position: Shipping & Receiving Front Desk Clerk
FLSA Status: Full-Time Non-Exempt
Reports To: Operations Director
POSITION Description: The Shipping and Receiving Front Desk Clerk is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments and receiving incoming shipments. Duties include organizing inventory for easy retrieval as new orders come in, dealing with all customers that arrive at Options Ink, and reviewing incoming and outgoing shipment schedules to maintain productive operations and documenting damages to inventory.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Answer and direct calls to appropriate parties, take clear and accurate messages as needed
  • Act as point of contact for internal and external customers
  • Keep Operations Director informed of problems or issues
  • Mark and identify tags for items received
  • Create monthly print outs for shipping and receiving charge accounts
  • Alphabetize all invoices for payments
  • Track lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments
  • Load, unload, and pick up supplies and packages as needed
  • Lift and carry heavy boxes and items as needed
  • Keep accurate records and verify incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Communicate with vendors which includes fielding questions, creating/cancelling orders, and notification of order status/changes
  • Maintain inventory and packaging activity, updates, and order inventory as necessary
  • Pack and prepare materials for shipping
  • Clean and organize retail areas as needed
  • Responsible for meeting customer delivery schedules, communicating turnaround time to customers, loading, and unloading customer material
  • Provide general support to customers, answer questions, and direct customers to appropriate parties for customer needs
  • Provide general support for design and printing department as needed and available
  • Ensure proper opening and closing building procedures are followed
  • Perform filing, clerical and other administrative duties as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
