SUMMARY
The Shipping Technician is responsible for preparing, packing, and processing outgoing shipments in a timely and accurate manner; inventory management; and receiving functions.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Prepare and package products for shipment using appropriate materials to prevent damage.
  • Verify and complete shipping documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and shipping labels.
  • Schedule and coordinate with shipping carriers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments.
  • Inspect outgoing packages to ensure compliance with company quality and safety standards.
  • Operate shipping equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and label printers.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of shipping supplies.
  • Collaborate with the production team to meet shipping deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Forklift certification is a plus but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge or inventory or ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with shipping systems (e.g., FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip) is a plus.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position operates in a manufacturing plant environment and is exposed to fluctuating temperatures in certain areas; noises; working around machinery with moving parts; working in close proximity to others; potential trip hazards due to materials, tools, or equipment in the work area; and possible exposure to strong odors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to lift/move/carry up to 30 pounds; stand and walk for extended periods of time; use of both hands to handle or feel objects or controls with or without gloves; stoop/kneel/bend/crouch to reach material; climb on step-stool to access material overhead; climb stairs; have corrected hearing with ability to hear machine alarms; and operate machinery and/or power tools.
