Shipping & Receiving Clerk (1st Shift)

Pay Rate

  • $21.00 - $23.00 per hour (Paid Weekly)
  • Overtime: $31.50 - $34.50 per hour

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Job Summary


The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will manage the flow of products and materials in and out of the facility to ensure shipments are processed efficiently and safely. This position is responsible for coordinating shipping and receiving activities, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting smooth warehouse operations. This is a highly visible role with opportunities for growth and advancement.

The ideal candidate will receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips, identify damages or discrepancies, prepare outgoing shipments, and coordinate transportation to ensure timely deliveries. The role also includes inventory tracking, cycle counts, and year-end physical inventory support.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Sales and Production teams to ensure products ship on schedule.
  • Package products and materials, print shipping labels, and perform quality checks.
  • Weigh and measure packages accurately to meet carrier requirements.
  • Create bills of lading and coordinate shipments with logistics providers.
  • Maintain packaging material inventory and construct skids and shipping boxes as needed.
  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to load and unload heavy or oversized products.


Receiving

  • Assist with unloading trucks and signing delivery documentation.
  • Compare packing slips and bills of lading against received materials.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damage and report discrepancies.
  • Match receipts to purchase orders and communicate discrepancies.
  • Store materials in designated warehouse locations.
  • Enter receiving transactions into the ERP/manufacturing system.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Accounting regarding unmatched receipts.


Inventory Control

  • Monitor inventory levels and identify shortages or excess stock.
  • Communicate with vendors and carriers regarding shipment discrepancies, delays, or damages.
  • Label products and materials appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Monitor stock usage and communicate replenishment needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storage area.
  • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Coordinate returned product deliveries and inventory adjustments.
  • Follow all safety regulations when operating equipment and machinery.
