SHIPPING amp; RECEIVING ASSISTANT MANAGER
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Shipping amp; Receiving Assistant Manager to support the smooth operations of our warehouse. This role will work closely with the Shipping amp; Receiving Manager to ensure that all products—especially perishable goods—are received, stored, and shipped with accuracy, care, and speed. The ideal candidate has experience in warehouse logistics, is knowledgeable about food safety standards, and excels in leading teams.

MAIN JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support the daily operations of the shipping amp; receiving department, with a focus on food safety and product quality.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate warehouse staff to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies
  • Oversee the receipt and inspection of incoming food products to verify quality, quantity, and condition
  • Ensure timely and accurate staging, picking, packing, and loading of outgoing deliveries
  • Coordinate with drivers, vendors, and internal departments to manage delivery schedules and resolve issues
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in cycle counts and stock rotation, including FIFO procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare required documentation
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
  • Enforce sanitation and safety protocols in accordance with HACCP, FDA, and company standards
  • Assist the Shipping amp; Receiving Manager with reporting, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • As part of your role, you may be required to perform additional duties or tasks as assigned by your manager or the company. Flexibility and a willingness to take on varied responsibilities are essential expectations for all positions
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2 + years of experience in warehouse or logistics operations, preferably in food distribution
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a warehouse environment is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of shipping amp; receiving procedures, inventory control, and logistics best practices
  • Familiarity with food safety standards such as HACCP, FDA lt; and/or USDA regulations
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (certification a plus)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS), Microsoft Excel, and inventory software
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and working in a refrigerated or freezer environments as needed
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with drivers, vendors, and team members
