Job description

WAREHOUSE SHIPPING CLERK
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Warehouse Shipping Clerk for a company based in Bartlett, TN. In this role, you will have the opportunity to take full ownership of the facility's shipping operations and master professional logistics software. A Warehouse Shipping Clerk uses UPS WorldShip to process, label, and dispatch outbound packages. Key duties include creating shipping labels, managing electronic manifests, processing hazardous materials, and verifying commercial addresses. 

Pay Rate 
$15.00 per hour

Schedule and Hours 
Monday through Friday, 8 00 am to 5 00 pm.

Warehouse Shipping Clerk Duties and Responsibilities
   Reviewing daily manual pick ticket orders as they print out, for any special instructions
 Shipping of Daily orders:
 Scan pick ticket
 Verify ship label to pick ticket for accuracy.
 Look for ways to reduce shipping cost, ie smaller cartons, reduce amount of cartons, checkers tape and band light boxes together.
 Process shipments using appropriate software platforms, UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager or USPS
 Collect vs PDUCAT Paid free freight
 Choose between multi packages for multiple packages that are on a cart that is pushed onto the floor scale or a single box that is placed on the small scale
 Apply label to package and apply cost label to pick ticket.  Put shipped cartons on pallets to be loaded onto UPS trailer using a pallet jack
 Assist with various projects as assigned by lead or manager.

Warehouse Shipping Clerk Qualifications and Requirements
        Must have an understanding with UPS Worldship. (A Must)
        Experience with FedEx Ship Manager. (helpful)
        Constant lifting and on feet moving around 85 to 95% of day
        Must be able to lift 30+ lbs. – majority of the packages are between 5 and 20 lbs.
        Previous experience in warehouse operations (preferred)
        Good interpersonal and communication skills. (A Must)
        Positive attitude and willingness to learn
        Needs to function in a deadline driven environment
         Must be a quick learner, self-starter with attention to detail
        Must be able to work with little to no supervision
        Ability to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectively
        Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
        Good command of the English language, both written and verbal
        Good reading, spelling and comprehension skills
        Must demonstrate good understanding of basic math functions
        Must be able to use and navigate a computer
        Ability to take direction and work well with others
