About the Role

Whisper Aero is seeking a Project Engineer who will work with cross-functional engineering teams within Whisper to coordinate timing and execution of projects onsite in Crossville, Tennessee. In this role, you will develop and refine schedules using engineering judgement and facilitate communication. The successful candidate will be someone with a strong background in executing multi-system aerospace projects and thrives in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment. They will have a passion for excellence and be able to clearly communicate with stakeholders, including engineers and leadership.ย 

What You'll Do
  • Build project schedules, highlight critical paths, and foresee future blockersutilizingengineering experience and systems thinkingย 
  • Coordinatewithinternal teams toclarify prioritiesand timelinesacrossprojectsย 
  • Lead standups for testing teamsย 
  • Build outrequirements, milestones, and risk management strategiesย 
  • Informprojectdecisions balancing technical performance, risk, and scheduleย 
  • Interact with leadership to communicate status, priorities, issues, and resource needsย 
  • Use agile management tools to plan sprints, track progress, andmaintaindocumentation across teamsย 
Required Qualifications
  • US Citizenship status is required, as this position may access export-controlled dataย ย 
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering, or a related field
  • Requires a minimum of 3years of professional engineering experience in a test related role within the aerospace or defense industryย ย 
  • Proven hands-onย backgroundย with hardwareย developmentย 
  • Provenย track recordย defining,ย organizing,ย and tracking multi-system aerospace projectsย 
  • Proven systems level thinking across aerospace technical disciplinesย 
  • Experience applying agile methodologies in a hardware or hybrid hardware/software program environment
  • Demonstrated ability toย work withย diverse technical teams
  • Proficiencyย with agile project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent for planning, tracking, and communicationย ย 
  • Excellent communication,ย writing,ย organizational, andย teamworkย skills
  • A willingness to work on tasks outside your primary job functions
  • Familiarity with AI tools (not just ChatGPT, Claude, or an AI notetaker).ย 
Bonus Qualifications
  • Background in R&D environments developing new aerospace technologies
  • Background inย aircraftย design and testingย 
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related toย aircraft, engines, electric machines, and electronicsย 
  • Experience withย aircraftย enginesย orย electric drivetrainsย 
  • Experience with modern requirements management software
  • FAA pilot certification
