Summary:

This position under general supervision is responsible for successfully handling, moving, loading/unloading supplies/materials and finished goods by hand or by using a variety of material handling equipment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following, but not limited to the following:

  • Maintains inventory accuracy in terms of amount, product identification, proper labeling, and storage placement (recording accurate storage locations for put-away, removals, returns, and/or transfers).
  • Prioritizes, picks, and properly stages all products for all orders (Production, Sales, R&D, and etc.) in a safe manner to ensure no damage occurs (to product and/or property) and timely delivery to fulfill customer satisfaction.
  • Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product for delivery.
  • Ensures each shipment includes all proper documentation via current operating systems (UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, MS Office, SAP byDesign, etc.).
  • Performs periodic housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe work environment (cleaning parking lot, loading docks, surrounding buildings and storage locations; organizing warehouse stock; returning all tools to designate storage cabinets; as well as keeping floors and workstations clear of debris).
  • Counts and/or reconciles randomly chosen or chosen part numbers and/or locations on a daily basis (cycle count and physical inventory programs).
  • Ensures compliance to inventory processes and procedures, and contractual obligations.
  • Operates powered industrial vehicles (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) in a safe manner.
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-used inspections (forklift, docks, etc.).
  • Must be Forklift Certified and possess strong computer skills
  • Maintains acceptable performance standards for assembly, production, quality, warehousing, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Performs all other assigned duties as instructed by supervision.

Education:

High school diploma or general education degree

6 months’ experience in manufacturing environment


Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


Mathematical Skills:

Perform basic mathematical calculations at a high school level. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving root cause and corrective action analysis.
