Position Summary 

Carpenters/Form Setters perform various carpentry tasks involving physical labor on highway, road, and bridge construction projects. They are responsible for building and setting forms for retaining walls, pipes, and bridges while ensuring accuracy, safety, and quality in every task. 


Carpenters/Form Setters work as part of a team on heavy civil construction projects, using their own tools and demonstrating a strong commitment to safety and craftsmanship in all aspects of the job. 


What You'll Do 

  • Construct, brace, and secure forms for concrete structures such as retaining walls, pipes, and bridges. 
  • Build, align, and secure structure forms for concrete placement. 
  • Set and brace forms for retaining walls, bridges, and other structural components. 
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, sketches, and blueprints to ensure accurate formwork. 
  • Use hand and power tools to measure, cut, and assemble form materials. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support project needs. 


What We're Looking For 

  • 3+ years of previous carpenter experience in all types of structural forms, including Symon, EFCO, and Wood forms for cast-in-place (CIP). 
  • Advanced wood forming experience. 
  • Must provide your own hand tools, such as hammer, pouch, level, 8" crescent wrench, and tape measure. 
  • Basic knowledge of operating hand and power tools used in construction. 
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, sketches, and blueprints. 
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, including standing, reaching, bending, lifting, carrying, and climbing. 
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. 
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends as needed.
