Job description

Maintenance Shift Mechanic Maintenance The Maintenance Shift Mechanic will: Perform corrective and preventive maintenance in accordance with the work order system Respond to emergency calls (fire, elevators, nurse call, etc.) within 5 minutes of receipt Perform emergency repairs to equipment in a timely manner Exhibit and maintain expertise with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, (low-pressure boiler) plumbing, HVAC (chillers) and electrical systems on a continuing basis Display appropriate knowledge of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing trades. Exhibiting familiarity with all tools and testing equipment needed to perform job tasks effectively and performing work assignments in a safe manner Requirements: Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions. A general understanding of mechanical, plumbing, electrical equipment and operations normally acquired through similar on-the-job training and 3-5 years of related experience

Must have a Black Seal in Low Pressure Boiler Operation and be familiar with the operation of chillers (screw machine type). Ability to meet deadlines, to concentrate and pay attention to details. Work requires prolonged standing and the ability to walk, climb ladders, lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds and heavy objects up to 50 pounds.

Must be familiar with and exercise precautions for working near live electrical equipment and hazards associated with operating mechanical equipment; i.e. boilers and chillers. Available for all 3 shifts, but primarily 2nd and 3rd shift, including weekends

Valid and in good standing driver's license issued by the state of New Jersey preferred due to the possibility of driving a facility vehicle to our various locations. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.

The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
