Job DescriptionJob Summary: As a Smart Shop Exempt Department Manager, you will oversee department operations which could include perishable departments, center store, Inventory Flow, Receiving, and Shelf Edge, with a specific emphasis in your area of expertise. (I.e. produce, market, front end.)Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Management:
  • Majority of the time spent using independent judgment in making employment-related and business decisions, or effectively recommend such decisions including but not limited to product and department related strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding or otherwise engage in resolving Partner-related matters
  • Manages people, staffing, and training for area of focus
  • Review and analyze financial and performance reports, identifies and follows up on opportunities / issues
  • Manages Operational Review Team (ORT) related audits and findings
  • Conducts detailed store and/or department walks
  • Maintains work instructions for area of focus
  • Monitors and reports on inventory estimates and Direct Store Delivery (DSD) accounting
