We are looking for a new teammate(s) to help accomplish this mission that includes***(details below) farming, (edible) landscaping, maintenance, wellness, educational enrichment ...we have a small team and are not expecting you to do it all, but we would love to hear what you want to contribute:)


Please detail your interest and ideally experience in organic and regenerative agriculture and any other spectrum of skills or passions you have to share. Its ok if you love surfing, we do too.

We are hiring for a full-time HERD MANAGER or until we find that person possibly MILK INTERN for August, Sept, (Oct). Milking shifts Friday-Monday, potentially off Tues,Wed,Thurs or additional farm work avail on those days. Yurt with shared outdoor kitchen and bath available in exchange for 16 hours/week. Yurt is large enough for a couple and Job could be shared. We also have a two bedroom (with small additional room) unit opening up that could be available for additional work trade or rent. -Farming, veggie garden, irrigation, tree work, nursery work, grafting, propagation, orchard/ agrofestry establishment and management, composting, new animals in rotation, permaculture design...

-Ranching, goat dairy requires twice a day milking, processing, cheese making, soap making etc. We are considering sheep and a cow in the future, already have horses, chickens (are evaluating pasture raised chicken as well) and bees on property.

-Landscaping/Property maintenance/ improvement, weedwhacking, mowing, tree trimming, tropical landscaping, earthwork, skidsteer and excavator

-Handy(wo)man work, addressing/ troubleshooting repairs/maintenance, painting, basic plumbing/ electrical, understanding of solar systems both thermal and pv, creative homesteading

-Educational enrichment afterschool and summer programming for elementary/ middle school age kids (and perhaps older)- music, art, movement, explorations etc.

-Additional opportunities include preparing food for CSA program or small events, utilizing new healing arts/wellness room, yoga or other community offerings

Waihuena Farm manages 30 acres on the North Shore of Oahu. Our mission is to grow food and a place for peace health and wellness. We recently started an organically managed goat dairy and are in search of a committed HERD MANAGER (after in person interview and trial period could return to start as late as JUNE 2027)...if you do not have goat experience we would be happy to train an INTERN starting in AUGUST.

Job details follow, however it is important to know there is more than just the dairy/ranching operations happening on property- herdshare and CSA programs, organic farming, (edible) landscaping, value added products, baking, bees, chickens, horses, tours, educational enrichment for visitors, keiki and the community, farm to table events, building maintenance and wellness offerings. We have a small team and are not expecting you to do it all, but look forward to hearing what you (or even your partner?) want to contribute! We have on property housing options, an off-grid yurt or two bedroom duplex. For applicants with young families or anyone with partners in education, we are next door to Sunset Beach

Sunset Beach Elementary school...and for the surfers, yes we are directly across from Pipeline.

With 20 does in milk, and an experimental 20 meat herd the dairy is more than a full time job. Responsibilites once trained will include-

-roughly half the roughly 2 hr AM and 2 hr PM milk shifts, weekend availability

-herd healthcare including hoof trimming, vaccinations, fecal inspections, deworming

-barn and milk parlor cleaning, equipment maintenance

-processing including pasteurizing, chèvre making and packing, soap making,

-seasonal birthing, baby feeding (3-4 x/day for first month),

-fencing pasture management and ideally future silvopasture

-(optionally) harvest/ slaughter of meat goats

-maintain records and contribute to safety of operation

-work independently and as a team

-must be able to lift 50 pounds, perform physically demanding tasks such as bending
