About the job
As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role as a Machine Operator. You will be essential in operating and maintaining conventional and special-purpose machines to fabricate structural parts and assemblies with precision. You'll have the opportunity to apply your expertise in machine shop theory, shop mathematics, material machinability, and layout techniques-helping drive both quality and efficiency. With minimal assistance, you'll contribute directly to our organization's success and ongoing growth.
This position is in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
As a part of the team, you will:
  • Provide materials to workstations and various locations as needed.

  • Read blueprints or instructions for job specifications.

  • Set up, operate, and maintain machines, including loading, machining, unloading, and de-burring.

  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions for accuracy.

  • Select and secure tools, fixtures, accessories, and materials.

  • Monitor machine operations, detect malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments.

  • Replace and install machined parts, ensuring proper functionality.

  • May install machined replacement parts into mechanisms, equipment and test operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.

  • Maintains machine and associated tools with limited assistance.

  • Use precision measuring devices to check work and troubleshoot issues, escalating concerns when needed.

  • Troubleshoot incoming problems; communicate with Lead or Supervisor any that require assistance.

  • Transport product to assigned department.

  • Safely rig and transport structures and products using overhead cranes and forklifts.

  • Follow instructions, seek clarification, and assist team leaders or managers.

  • Assist Team Leader or Manager with various tasks and training others as needed.

  • Crosstrain in different areas to enhance team flexibility.

  • Maintain a tidy work area during and after each shift

  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed.

  • All employees are expected to prioritize safety, regardless of role. This includes strict adherence to company-wide safety policies and procedures, proactive promotion of safe practices, and addressing unsafe behaviors or conditions in a constructive and positive manner.

  • Employees expected to conduct themselves with professionalism, courtesy, and cooperation toward colleagues, customers, vendors, and visitors.

  • Full compliance with all Alfa Laval policies and procedures is required to maintain a respectful, safe, and productive work environment.

What you know:
You have a High School Diploma or GED, preferred and:
  • 1 year of professional experience related to manufacturing preferred

  • Basic math skills including the ability to read a tape measure and calipers required.

  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints preferred.

  • Experience using industrial machines preferred.

  • Forklift operation certification preferred.

  • Overhead crane experience preferred.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in one or more of the following equipment: radial drills, fin tube machinery, large vertical band saw, presses, breaks and shears.

Physical and Environmental Factors:

  • Regularly exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally; 30 lbs of force frequently

  • Stand or walk for 80% of the workday

  • Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.

  • Mobility & Posture: Standing, walking, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and balancing on varied surfaces

  • Manual Dexterity: Reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects using upper body strength

  • Fine Motor Skills: Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers for precision tasks

  • Communication: Clear verbal expressions and active listening to convey and receive detailed instructions

  • Sensory Abilities: Adequate hearing to distinguish sounds and spoken communication in a work environment

Environmental Factors (hazardous materials, work location, work surfaces, exposure):
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment: steel toe boots, safety glasses, and ear plugs

  • Exposure to various weather conditions cold or hot, wet/humid conditions, and loud noise levels. No climate-controlled environment.

  • Work near hazards: moving machinery, vehicles, electrical currents, and chemicals

  • Encounter atmospheric conditions: fumes, dust, gases, odors, and poor ventilation

  • Operate in confined spaces such as narrow aisles or passageway

  • Communicate effectively through speech and hearing
