$67.070 - $86.540 - $96.930


The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant's years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.



What You Will Do
Bachelors prepared nurse who applies clinical expertise in evidence-based nursing practice within a specialty area and functions as clinical expert and educator. Leadership skills (system thinker and change agent) are role assumptions.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • 2 Years recent pertinent clinical experience.
  • California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing -REQUIRED
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or enrolled in a Master's program.
  • Nursing Professional Development Certification (NPD-BC) - American Nurses Credentialing Center -PREFERRED

Other Qualification Requirements
  • Certification in specialty area of practice highly desired.

Essential Functions
  • Clinical Expert
    Facilitates/provides opportunities for improving nurse sensitive outcome(s) in selected patient populations.
    Incorporates new models, techniques and theories into nursing professional development and clinical practice.
    Develops new area of expertise/skill acquisition applicable to role.
  • Educator
    Assist nursing personnel in identifying learning needs and planning activities to meet those needs.
    Systematically plans and evaluates overall nursing staff development in response to health care trends, regulatory requirements and organizational strategic priorities.
    Uses evidence-based educational frameworks when designing, implementing and evaluating educational initiatives.
    Educates staff on new or advanced application of skills.
    Conducts and communicates comprehensive evaluation of the impact of educational activities on learner, patient and organization.
  • Research and Evidence-Based Practice
    Collaborates with interprofessional team in implementing clinically based, relevant research.
    Fosters staff members’ knowledge and skill in research and evidence-based practice.
    Implements changes in evidence-based practice framework.
    Improves outcomes through performance improvement activities.
    Evaluates efficacy and safety of products, devices and technology.
  • Resource Management
    Contributes to budget for educational activities and monitors actual costs and outcomes.
    Maintains and secures current records to maximize efficient tracking and monitoring of educational activities and learner requirements.
    Uses administrative, education and support team members to meet the learning and development needs of nursing services team members.
    Uses quality improvement methodologies (DMAIC, root cause analysis, etc.) and nursing process to improves staff’s ability to deliver cost effective health care.
  • Professional Development
    Fosters a climate which promotes open communication, learning and professional growth.
    Facilitates the implementation of change at the organizational level.
    Enhances own professional growth through self-evaluation and setting and meeting own developmental goals.
    Commits to practice self-care, management stress, and connect with self and others.
  • Community and Leadership
    Serves in expert roles on committees, councils, administrative and interprofessional teams.
    Participates in professional nursing organizations and partners with community organizations and schools.
    Creates an environment that helps organization meet its mission and vision.
    Builds relationships and rounds consistently with management, clinical staff and other departments to facilitate the education process and evaluate educational outcomes.
    Provides community-based education about the nursing profession/specialty area.
