Working until approximately August 2027 with the possibility of extension
Working within the Technology & Digital Services department and reporting to the Manager, Data, Information & GIS, the SharePoint Analyst serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for SharePoint Online and related Microsoft 365 collaboration technologies within Parkland County. This position is responsible for the administration, operational support, governance, and continuous improvement of the County’s SharePoint and Microsoft 365 platform. The Analyst implements and maintains information and records management, information architecture, security and compliance practices to ensure alignment with corporate, legislative, and regulatory requirements and coordinates vendor-delivered support as needed to ensure secure, reliable, and effective platform operations.  Working closely with business units throughout the organization, the position analyzes requirements and delivers solutions, integrations, and process improvements that enhance collaboration, information sharing, and operational effectiveness.  Additionally, the position identifies opportunities to leverage Microsoft 365, Microsoft Copilot, artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and emerging technologies to drive innovation, enhance productivity, and maximize organizational value.
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Library and Information Science, Information Systems or a related field.  
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 administration, configuration, and operational support, including experience with PowerShell and ShareGate.  
  • Certification in ITIL 4 Foundation, Information Management, Information Governance & Data Management, Data Security & Compliance, SharePoint, and Enterprise Content Management would be considered assets.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze business requirements, design and implement technology solutions, and support projects that enhance collaboration and information management using Microsoft 365 technologies. 
  • Experience implementing information governance, records management, information protection, and Microsoft Purview compliance solutions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, AI-enabled solutions, workflow automation, and emerging Microsoft 365 technologies, with the ability to identify opportunities that improve operational efficiency and user experience.
Requirements:
  • Ability to primarily work in-person at Parkland County Centre – 53109A HWY 779, Parkland County, AB.
  • A valid class 5 driver’s license and current, satisfactory driver’s abstract provided upon hire.
  • A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required upon hire, excluding candidates under the age of 18 and current Parkland County employees.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
