We have an opportunity for a HR Shared Services Director to join our Golden Valley, MN team. You will have responsibility for managing our growing HR Shared Services team which includes Tier 1 and Tier 2 Employee and Manager support, HR Operations, and a developing COE team – all in support of delivering exceptional HR process and technology support to our employees, managers, and HR team members.  You will also be responsible for supporting and contributing to our HR transformation objectives, including the design of our Shared Services delivery model, HR service design, team member capability building, Shared Services reporting, and overall maturation of this new function at Pentair.  The team today primarily supports employees and managers in North America, but over the next 2-3 years you will have the opportunity to expand the team globally.  With the support of existing managers, you will drive accountability to accurate and timely HR transaction processing and customer support and respond to escalations as appropriate.  In this role, you will be expected to help manage executive alignment and broader stakeholder management, partnering and working across teams including Field HRBP teams, COEs, HRIS, Payroll, Finance, Legal, and IT.  This position reports directly to the Sr. Director, HR Technology, Operations & Payroll.

You will:

HR Shared Services Leadership:

  • Provide HR Shared Services and Operations thought leadership and expertise with Local, Regional, and Global peers
  • Champion a progressive HR Shared Services strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business objectives
  • Partner with the HR Transformation team on progress of the HR Shared Service Center to support the Transformation roadmap
  • Partner with HRBP teams to advance the design and maturation of the HR Delivery Model
  • Lead research, gathering business requirements, providing functional analysis, support the deployment of HRIS system, services and processes, and provide sustaining support
  • Manage the implementation and administration of HR programs, policies, and procedures in a Global Shared Service center / model. 

Service Delivery Design and Optimization:

  • Oversee usage and optimization of the design of Workday as our Case Management and Knowledge Base solutions
  • Provide global process oversight of Workday supported HR processes, supporting adoption and identifying opportunities for optimization
  • Shape the future of our HR service delivery model by identifying continuous improvement opportunities and evolving the process around the service center.
  • Drive accountability to existing SLAs, identify new, and advance reporting and dashboarding capabilities
  • Ensure excellent customer service for employees and managers on resolution of HR inquiries, concerns, and issues
  • Serves as liaison to internal stakeholders and maintains SLAs. 
  • Ensure team accountability to global HR Administration including completing transactions, answering standard HR questions, ensuring high quality data, communicating consistent definitions, and reporting and analytics
  • Monitors efficiency, utilization, and effectiveness of shared service teams.  Ensures KPIs are established, tracked, and evaluated for process and delivery model improvements.
  • Direct, maintain, and expand the Workday Knowledge Base for knowledge articles, process documentation, and other materials

Team Leadership and Growth:

  • Manage a team of Managers that deliver Tier 1 and Tier 2 employee and manager support, HR Operations that supports HR, and a building COE function
  • Oversees and serves as escalation point for Shared Services teams
  • Oversee development and engagement for the HR Shared Services team supporting 5,000+ NA employees and eventually 10,000+ Globally.  Provide guidance, support and feedback to the HR Shared Services teams. 
  • Oversee career development and learning opportunities for the team to maintain and grow skills, capabilities, retention, and engagement.

Projects and Vendor Management:

  • Oversee and deliver small to mid-sized projects, including acquisitions, re-organizations, implementation of new functionality/process improvements and annual HR process support
  • Manage third party vendor relationships for services including new hire reporting, I9 compliance and unemployment

Key Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) in HR or related field, required.
  • Master's Degree, Human Resources or Business Administration, preferred.
  • Ten (10) or more years of progressive HR experience in a global HR organization.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in HR Shared Services, or HR Operations, holding leadership responsibilities in designing, building, implementing, and deploying an HR Delivery Model.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience leading and managing employees and managers of employees.
  • Workday Help or other Case Management technology experience required.
  • Workday experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes and policies.  Knowledge of data privacy and compliance regulations.
  • Experience delivering on an HR Transformation strategy and program.
  • Experience in effectively leading complex projects and programs involving cross-functional business teams.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a growing team of mid-level managers and developing Shared Services resources.
  • Customer service orientation with the ability to influence others to implement process change.
  • Advanced Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills preferred.

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $149000 - $276700 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus and/or long-term incentives.
