For more than 75 years, Suisman Shapiro has served individuals, families, and businesses throughout the region. We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our team. This opportunity is ideal for newly admitted attorneys, recent law school graduates awaiting bar admission, judicial clerks, and attorneys with up to five years of experience seeking a supportive environment to grow their legal careers.


Prior litigation experience is preferred but not required. We are seeking an attorney who is eager to learn litigation, develop courtroom skills, and grow within our litigation practice. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong writing skills, sound judgment, professionalism, and a desire to learn.


What You'll Do

  • Assist attorneys with a variety of legal matters and client matters
  • Conduct legal research and analysis
  • Draft correspondence, pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
  • Participate in client meetings, negotiations, hearings, and court appearances
  • Work directly with experienced attorneys on case strategy and legal solutions
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
  • Develop legal skills through hands-on experience and mentorship


Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Connecticut Bar admission or ability to obtain admission promptly
  • Eligible for admission before the U.S. District Court
  • 0–5 years of legal experience
  • Recent graduates and newly admitted attorneys are encouraged to apply
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, and eager to learn
  • Desire to build a long-term career with a respected law firm
