Job description

Signature Research, Inc. (SGR) seeks an IT & Security Specialist to join their team in Navarre, Florida supporting Windows/Linux systems.

This is not your everyday IT support job. You help protect and maintain the classified and unclassified systems behind advanced defense and national security work. You support employees in both Florida and Michigan while keeping SGR’s technology secure, reliable, compliant, and ready for whatever comes next.

This is an on-site role for someone who enjoys solving technical problems—and understands that good cybersecurity involves more than changing passwords.

WHAT WE OFFER.
  • $95,000 – $130,000 annual starting wage.
  • Comprehensive health and benefit package in which company pays all base plan health insurance premiums; buy-up options available.
  • Simplified Employee Pension (SEP) Plan.
  • Paid vacation, sick time and holidays.
  • Full-time, Monday – Friday in-office position; remote work is not available.
WHAT YOU’LL DO.

You maintain secure Windows and Linux environments across SGR’s Florida and Michigan operations, combining hands-on system administration with cybersecurity compliance and oversight to help meet demanding Department of Defense requirements. You also:

  • Set up, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot information systems, hardware, software, and virtual environments.
  • Develop and maintain companywide IT security policies and procedures.
  • Create, implement, and enforce system security plans.
  • Perform system audits, vulnerability scans, risk assessments, continuous monitoring, and secure file transfers.
  • Investigate security incidents, violations, and data-integrity concerns.
  • Use security-hardening and assessment tools to identify and correct vulnerabilities.
  • Work with SGR’s managed service provider, customers, and internal stakeholders to keep operations running.
  • Provide guidance to Information System Security Officers and support SGR’s security staff.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field—or an equivalent combination of education, training, certifications, and work experience (5 years).
  • Administrative experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate clearly, stay organized, and follow security requirements carefully.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification—or the ability to obtain it within six months if hired.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain (and maintain) a security clearance. Don’t have clearance? No problem—we’ll help you through the process.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to travel SGR’s Calumet, Michigan location several times per year, generally for one week at a time.
EVEN BETTER IF YOU HAVE…
  • An active Top Secret clearance.
  • CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or another cybersecurity certification.
  • Experience with SCAP, STIGs, Nessus, security hardening, assessment, or reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of RMF, DAAPM, JSIG, NIST 800-171, or CMMC.
ARE YOU READY for work that is anything but ordinary?
