Job description

Information Desk Attendant

Provides information, advice, and guidance about events and services of AS and the Student Center; Information also attends to the questions of all guests. We always strive to provide answers to any SF State-related questions, city questions, transit questions, and any other inquiries patrons of SF State may have. We also offer a location for room reservations, key check-in, lost and found, and a friendly place to help you plan your day.

Job Description:

  • Provide guests with exceptional customer service in an efficient and polite manner.
  • Provide various desk services such as lost and found, phone services and answer questions.
  • Check out keys and provide support to student organizations.
  • Approve banners and flyers to be affixed on the Mezzanine level.
  • Greet and welcome future students, families, and visitors; assisting with directions
  • Maintain Student Center bulletin boards per our existing policies.
  • Act as a liaison between students, full-time workers, and other AS programs in regard to CCSC.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a currently enrolled SFSU student with a minimum of 6 units for undergraduates or 4 units for graduates.
  • Familiar with campus and campus related experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude while working under stressful situations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Willingness to learn on the job about customer service requirements and Associated Students policies, departments, and organizations.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Must be punctual and responsible.
  • Must be able to think and act quickly in a variety of situations.
  • Able to lift 10-15 lbs, when needed.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
