Custodial Supervisor (Working Supervisor)


Full-Time | Exempt

Compensation | Annual Salary of $58,000

Location | Private School in the Brentwood Area


Schedule: Flexible Schedule | Monday-Friday | Ability to adjust hours based on operational needs, school activities, events, and staffing coverage requirements. Supports facility operations and custodial coverage between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM, with occasional weekend events as needed.


About SFM

School Facility Management LLC (SFM) provides professional custodial, maintenance, landscaping, and security services for schools, churches, and commercial facilities throughout the Nashville area.


We are seeking an experienced Custodial Supervisor (Working Supervisor) to oversee custodial operations at a private school facility serving middle and high school students. This position is responsible for supervising employees, maintaining high-quality cleaning standards, supporting daily facility operations, and developing strong relationships with school representatives and SFM leadership.


This is a hands-on leadership role requiring the ability to supervise staff while performing custodial duties and adjusting schedules as needed to support operational requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, schedule, and provide daily direction to custodial employees.
  • Coordinate staffing coverage and operational needs across assigned shifts between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend event support as needed.
  • Maintain flexibility to adjust working hours based on school activities, staffing needs, events, and facility requirements.
  • Perform cleaning duties and assist the team when needed.
  • Monitor employee attendance, productivity, schedules, and electronic timesheets.
  • Ensure cleaning standards, safety requirements, and client expectations are consistently met.
  • Conduct quality inspections and address service concerns.
  • Maintain strong customer service relationships with school administrators, facility managers, clients, and SFM leadership.
  • Coordinate building setups, special events, and cleaning projects.
  • Oversee routine and periodic floor maintenance, including VCT, carpet cleaning, scrubbing, buffing, shampooing, waxing, and other specialty floor care.
  • Complete work orders, reports, schedules, and administrative documentation.
  • Assist with employee training, onboarding, and performance support.
  • Provide coverage and fill in when staffing needs require.


Requirements

  • Complete required background checks.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Follow all school and client safety policies and procedures.
  • Work in a smoke-free environment.
  • Maintain professional conduct while representing SFM.
  • Interact professionally with students, faculty, staff, visitors, and client representatives.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform hands-on custodial and facility duties, including:
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Bending, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive cleaning tasks.
  • Lifting and moving supplies, equipment, and materials (up to approximately 50 lbs.).
  • Operating commercial cleaning equipment.
  • Working in an active school and commercial environment.
