  1. Responsible for selecting all of the equipment needed for the sewing process, which includes setting up the machine and its peripherals, and using the tools correctly. These tools mostly include scissors, knives, fasteners, stiffeners, templates and measuring devices.
  2. Operators are also responsible for monitoring machine operation, which can include fixing attachments like needles, threads, pattern plates or cutting blades.
  3. Responsible for inspecting the product after it has been rendered.
  4. Keeping record of the orders processed
  5. Setting apart quality passed garments
  6. Setting apart defective or lower-quality garments for correction or disposal
  7. Ensuring that textile parts are in correct sequences and, confirming that the color lots and textile patterns match

Competencies
  1. Should be able to work on sewing machines in a manufacturing environment
  2. Should have good organizational skills for sorting and cutting textile parts for joining
  3. Should have high hand dexterity to operate sewing machines
  4. Should have some interpersonal skills

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to manually lift and stack products that ranges from 5 pounds to 65 pounds. Must be capable of sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting, or walking for extended periods of time. The work element is in a temperature controlled environment. Must be able to work additional hours and up to seven days a week, as needed. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work are dependent on which shift you work.
Travel
No travel is required with this position.
Preferred Education and Experience
  1. A high school diploma is sufficient for this position and, past experience in a manufacturing sewing operations is beneficial.
