Heiman PPE Care and Maintenance is seeking a Sewing/Repair Specialist to join our dedicated team. This vital role ensures that protective gear used by first responders is repaired, maintained, and kept to the highest safety standards. We have a brand new state-of-the-art-facility that will provide a positive working environment!

Position Summary:
As a Sewing/Repair Specialist, you will be responsible for repairing damaged turnout gear and performing inspections according to NFPA standards and customer requests. Your attention to detail will help protect those who serve our communities. This role involves repair work, alterations, inspections, and equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate commercial sewing and repair equipment.
  • Perform inspections in compliance with NFPA and industry standards.
  • Complete repairs following established procedures and safety standards.
  • Document all repairs and damage assessments.
  • Maintain and service sewing equipment (oil, cleaning, sharpening tools, etc.)
  • Keep the sewing area clean and organized.
  • Assist with inventory of fabrics, hardware, and sewing supplies.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with commercial sewing equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of sewing equipment operation and maintenance.
